Welcome to Newington
in
Edinburgh
Please join us as we explore this area of South Edinburgh which is our home. We want to find out more about this locality and the people who live here, its organisations and services, and to understand more about the way we live as a community and who we are. This is a personal perspective and more information will be added as we go. If you are new to the area, or just visiting, we hope you may find something to interest you and links to help you on the way.

Newington Churches
As the picture develops you may get to know more of the communities, especially the faith communities who live or meet here. If you would like to visit or know more about one of these Newington Area Churches are listed. There are upwards of 10 Churches of Scotland in the area, plus Scottish Episcopalian, Baptist, Methodist, Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Free Church of Scotland and the independent Community Church. Some of these are linked ecumenically as Newington Churches Together . Surprisingly (or perhaps not) we often don’t know much about each other so we have a News section, including news from Ekklesia, an Events Calendar and information about the Cameron Toll Chaplaincy Project, Church and Society - plus a growing list of other groups, communities and charities in which local church members are involved.
Exploring Spirituality
Spirituality is such an in-word these days. For some it is about relationship with God or faith in a superior being or mystery and the suprwnatural-others look for their own spirituality -beliefs and practices that they feel is right for them. Many spend their life searching --
Definitions, reviews, links, reflections and meditations-one persons explorations of the meaning of life!
